The Brent River & Canal Society call on Ealing MPs to take urgent action for nature

On 7th October 2022 The Brent River & Canal Society (BRCS) sent and published an open letter asking MPs of Ealing, Ms Rupa Huq, Mr James Murray and Mr Virendra Sharma, to stand up for nature as a matter of urgency in light of the recent announcements made by Prime Minister Liz Truss.

The government’s proposed policy will tear up vital environmental laws across England, effectively putting commercial and housing developments ahead of safeguarding wildlife and nature. The BRCS is asking Ealing’s MPs to oppose these proposals and to demand that the government strengthen environmental planning rules.

The BRCS charity campaigned to form the Brent River Park in the 1970s, a series of green spaces connected by the River Brent, rich in wildlife and enjoyed by the local community for recreational usage.

#EveryGreenSpaceMatters now more than ever. UK-wide and locally we believe our MPs could be doing a lot more to stop the #AttackOnNature.

Please read the full open letter below. You can also view and download it via this link.
